hi i want thx for a great mod but i cant enjoy the game because gunreal quits after few seconds of "gunreal loading screen"

whole folder i dropped into UT2004 package (so way to file is .../Unreal Tournament 2004/Gunreal/...
but crashing
after that i find "hint" to extract .../Gunreal/Content/ .ukx, .utx ... files into Animations, Sounds, Textures
but still crashing

im running on X.5.6 and trying to load game over UTModLauncher and UT2k4 Launcher Factory

Any idea how to play it?
thx again for game and reply

Not sure what you're doing exactly, but make sure your UT2004/Gunreal folder has other folders in it, like Animations, Textures, etc... Make sure there isn't just a pile of random files floating around. Probably the easiest way to make certain of this is to extract the files via the "Extract" button (don't drag-n-drop anything) and choose the UT2004 root folder as the destination.

I haven't installed a Mac version of Gunreal (everyone just tells me it works fine), so unfortunately I can't go look and try to see what you might be doing wrong.

Hmm.. Looks good to me, so I have no idea. The last thing to check is if you have the latest video card drivers (you seem to have the UT2004 3369 patch already).

Beyond on that, I don't know what it could be.

I tried to find an extract button on my mac though and couldn't find one. All i could do was drag and drop to the UT2004/Content folder. I also have "copy to" but no actual "extract" command available. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

The Gunreal folder goes in the root UT2004 folder, not UT2004/Content. (unless that's an engine trick I don't know about. Gunreal has its packages stored in Gunreal/Content rather than Gunreal/Textures(etc), but that's just packages, not everything)

Btw, if you don't have an extract button, try this: when you open the zip file, you should hopefully see a lone Gunreal folder sitting there, kind of like this:

Just drag-n-drop that folder into the UT2004 folder.

If, when you open the zip, you just see a huge jumble of random files, you're either going to have to find some kind of Extract button, maybe buried in a menu or something (make sure you don't select any of the files before choosing Extract, or it will only extract those files), or find an option to view the zip file with the full folder hierarchy, so you see everything in the right folders, and not just jumbled together on the first screen.

Sorry, I was mistaken, there is no UT2004/Content folder. I dont exactly know how to find my UT2004 dir folder, I just click on the app and select "Show Package Contents" which brings me to the UT folder. I then drag and drop the unzipped Gunreal folder which has random files and folders in itself, into the UT2004 folder. I then used the "UT2k4 Launcher Factory.app" to create a launcher, which I then launch to start Gunreal. Then it crashes. Is everything Im dong right, or am I mistaken somewhere?

Thx,

No idea. Sad But see if you can run any other mods. If not, that will tell you something.
