Heh, we don't even follow hockey here in California.

Winter sports elude us, with the exception of snowboarding, since we have a fair deal of popular snowy mountains. But hey, we think we invented surfing, and half the high-schoolers around here do it. Not that anyone would watch it professionally (can you keep score in surfing?)... it's like gaming: is it a sport? Yes. Would anyone watch it on TV? Only if it's a good StarCraft tournament.

Update: WIIIIIIINN!!! Who would have thought they'd make it that far, and win the cup? (here's how I see sports: there are about 30 teams in a league... 1 wins the championship... the other 29 lose. The end.)
It was quite ironic how ended up seeing this... because, incidentally, I haven't seen even a piece of hockey game on TV in at least 6 or 7 years. (I've BEEN to one, though, when I was like 4) I was eating something at the table, and I noticed my dad watching hockey for some reason... and then I heard the commentators say something about the Red Wings at one point where things sounded really fierce (the commentators were so excited, they were almost shouting). I immediately remembered that the Red Wings were Blade's team, so I was like, "Oh! Sounds like they're getting their butts kicked!" So, I asked my dad what was going on, and he said that it was the last couple minutes of the final championship game... so I went and watched them whomp the Penguins in the final seconds.
Seeing a whole team of penguins standing out on the ice like that, I almost got up and bought an airline ticket to go visit them, so I could kick them over. I love kicking penguins. That's what they're for.

The Penguins... Seriously, where do they get these names? There aren't even any penguins in all North America... not even at the zoo, because I released them all, and brought them home, so I could kick them.
And the Red Wings... do you know anything about this, Eric? It's almost like the White Sox. Uhh... White Sox, as opposed to what other color that you wear? Oh, right... Red Sox.
At least the Red Wings might make sense if they're named after Tabasco-covered Chicken Wings or something.

Personally, I like Football team-names better though (referring to American football, not "soccer" football, as we call it)... like the 49'ers (the
what?), or the Houston Texans (just in case you forget where Houston is). But my FAVORITES are from the
[American football league in Germany]... In the Verbandsliga Bayern division, you've got the Raptors, the Bears, the Spiders... and the last team in the division, the Ball Berrings.
Now those are team names... I want to play for the Frankfurt Family.
