How do you get the minigun to show up with the armor-piercing and explosive ammo (and barrels)? Is it only in certain gametypes? or maps with vehicles? either way, I was wondering if it would be possible to always make them available, because the explosive minigun is freakin amazing. my fav weapon.

They appear in any vehicular gametypes (including VCTF).

I use Mapmixer, and it always throws random maps and gametypes at me, and It loaded deathmatch, regular DM, but it was on a custom DM map with vehicles (forgot which one, maybe dukenukem hollywood halacaust..?) and the AP/E minigun was available. Um, is that a bug?

*straps on combat armor, boots and helmet, and grabs weapon of choice, FLYSWATTER!!*

If the game forces vehicles on, then the anti-vehicle weapons should show up ..  at least, that's how it's written.  If we don't want it that way, I'm sure we could change that.

Yea, if you could, could you at least make it an option, to be able to use AP/E minigun anytime? they're so fun to use

Being able to use the explosive and anti-armor Miniguns in DM/CTF would be genocidal, but if they prove to be too effective against infantry in ONS too, then between now and 1.0 release, we could see them toned down against infantry, and re-introduced in all gametypes. (because yes, there's something about using the explosive minigun vs. a large group of players in Albatross... but at the moment, the minigun would just be too powerful to be fair)

Through use of the 'set' console command, you should be able to force the setting that tells the game wether vehicles are allowed, which should change the menu to allow purchase.  When I'm not just waking up and so groggy I can barely see, I'll look up the class names and variable name

Not directly related to topic, but could the AP minigun's RoF or accuraccy be turned up? Right now it really isn't competitive with the HE minigun at all. No splash damage to make near-misses effective, less damage even on direct hits than the HE rounds, and the RoF / Accuraccy aren't much - if any - better. Love the weapon, but would like it to be a tad more competitive with it's big brother.
