Playing it now. ASide from high lag, (more likely my computers fault) there is only one issue that I have, the turret does not target the monsters.

This turret is a placeholder borrowed from some Assault maps. The final turret will make the monsters bow down and shine its shoes. But yeah, if it's a simple fix, we might be able to get it working for the sake of testing, because we need to know at least *roughly* how the turret affects each gametype. Oh, and letting a turret gun down Invasion monsters is cool. Having it just sit there and wave the monsters on is not what this is all about.

I think you should make your own turret and the placer should be able (or their teammates) to "use" it and maybe go into a sub menu and pay money to upgrade it it various ways, although, i think that has been done before... I just think it'd be cool to make the turret have more functionality and strategy. well, if u can, at least make the turret look cooler.

Well, I like the idea of it. It just needs to be refined. For one thing, only one per team should be allowed... Second, we could make it modifiable. Such as if you build a standard one, and have a Plasma gun, you can pay money to combine the two, at the cost of the weapon, plus the cost of the upgrade, which should be expensive, so... to get a Destroyer turret would be really hard.

something teamfortress style? but idd only one turret for every team. and maybe something that you can control and fire it yourself like the minigun turrets in assault, where you have a control panel. maybe you could use one of these: http://www.gunreal.com/forum/index.php?topic=26.0the ice gun would be cool, so that the turret freezes people/monsters and you can break them with your piston.

Well, its way to powerful for more then two on one side. A rocket hit could kill it, but it always gets first shot.

I think you should make your own turret... It's on the way. It's essentially finished, but it needs to be coded now. Here's a test render, from before it was skinned: http://www.deefrag.com/files/Temp/video/turret_test.swfThe final turret (above) is going to behave much differently than the current one, and will only be useful at short/medium range. It won't be instant-hit, so you'll be able to avoid it better, but it will be a team-play defense powerhouse, capable of being upgraded so that it can assault base-attackers with a flurry of light plasma-like fire. (it can also be given a shield - all purchased with Dark Matter [Adrenaline]) It's called the Dark Energy Turret, and is nearly pitch black, covered with an oily sheen (dark matter), minus it's bright, glowing plasma center (which is its weak point, and also the point from which you can heal it).

That's awesome. Creative as hell. but how many different types of upgrades are there going to be? Personally I hope (For replay-value, strategy and fun's sake) there will be a lot. shields are a must, maybe armour plating, too just for added protection, all different types of ammo, upgraded sensors, maybe a way to make it anti-gravitational, so it can float and cloaking. GOTTA hav cloaking... I hope.

Lol, well, if you want maximum customization, you can just boot up WoE Sentinel. I'm specifically trying to keep the turret simplified, so that it doesn't take away any time from the game, and add a huge distraction. The WoE Sentinel, (as much as I love it), is such a chore to maintain, that I have to take up a full-time babysitting occupation once I have one active. Just having the ability to deploy them turns online teams into aimless, distracted campers. If I wanted its functionality, I would have just asked Mr. Evil if I could work it into the mod (with new FX, meshes, etc), but you can still always add the mutator yourself.
