I have an idea for the completed damage pick-up weapon effect... I think it would be cool to not just have it glow purple like in ut2k4, but to also give it its own aura, maybe with small tendrils of energy coming off of them

Yeah, I'm having this one too. It seems to only affect the weapon you have equipped when you pick up the Udamage, though. Switch to others, it's not there. Switch back, it's there again.

I did not have that problem, when you switch to 3rd person, you are glowing a deep purple with tendrils of energy around you.

Yup, this is temporary. I intended to have a glowing, brightening effect, but the shader didn't work.

really? i didnt notice that, well still i was talking about the guns in first person, too. cuz my weapons do that same transparency trickery

I think the aura around the player is also adding a slight tint to everything in first person mode. You might want to make it invisible from first person view
