Mac users, if you are able to get Gunreal working, can you mention here how it was done?

We know it can be done, but we don't officially know how yet, so that we can add the info to the download page.

Hello, i will try and be of help here Tongue

For mac users......
First download the mac friendly version of this mod in the other mac thread. Now right click/control click on your ut2004 app(which should be in the applications folder) and choose "show package contents". Now you will see your ut2004 base folder, now go into your "contents" folder in gunreal. Sort the files into folders. Create a folder called "Animations" on your desktop, drag the files in the contents folder that have the .ukx extension into this folder. Now drop that "Animations" folder into your gunreal base folder(where the system folder is and all of those other files). Create a "Sounds" folder, drag and drop the files in the "contents" folder that end in the .uax extension into this new Sounds folder. Drag the new Sounds folder and drop it into your Gunreal base folder where the Animations folder now is. Create a StaticMeshes folder on your desktop now and drag the files in your gunreal contents folder ending in the .usx extension into your new StaticMeshes folder. Drag this folder into your Gunreal base folder. Create a folder called Textures on your desktop and drag the files in your gunreal contents folder ending in .utx to this new folder called Textures. Drag that folder into your base Gunreal folder.

Now download this application from this mac site that i am a staff member at.

this is Spyro's mod launcher, copy and paste the name of the gunreal mod folder into the "mod name" section. Delete what the section has below this one. You may also drag and drop a picture of the gunreal icon in the little photo spot to help create your launcher icon. Now double click your new launcher and Gunreal will launch, if it doesnt it means you didnt sort the files in your contents folder correctly and put the new folders into the gunreal base folder. Also copy and paste the direct name of your mod folder into the "mod name" section before creating the launcher.

This method has worked for me, Dario i recommend sorting your non .exe folders this way(the files in your "contents" folder should be in their proper named folders in the gunreal base folder).

and questions, you can ask me.

First I downloaded the .zip format, that is available, on the Epic Forums. 1

Second, I unzipped it and dragged and dropped the Gunreal folder into, "Show Package Contents" of UT2004
Then, I opened up UT2k4 factory launcher. 2

Then I followed its instructions and typed in the name of the folder, and saved the launcher in my UT2004 folder.

All done! =D

Got it working.  I'll be playing it the next few days.  I played for about 30 minutes and loved it.  Everything seems to be working fine as far as weapons are concerned.  I was playing custom maps and noticed some hanging in places, especially on fast moving vehicles, like mantas and scorpions, but I just installed the maps so I can't really judge for now.  I'll play original maps and see how that goes.  Thanks for the install info guys.

Thanks. Well, that gets the Mac version out of the way!  Cool

Well, mostly... All we need now is that mailing list setup, so that Mac users get notification of updates (if desired).

I still don't understand why most companies think people will just "know" when important patches come out. There have been times when I've beaten entire games with some huge problems, only to realize when I was done that a huge patch was released when I was half-way through. My favorite.  Cheesy
