Screenshot time! Just for fun... and we might also use some of these on the site, or for promotional stuff in the future, perhaps. ---=== How to use console commands to take nice screenshots: ===---(notice: these don't work online. Bot-matches only) 1: First, hit ` just to the left of 1 on the keyboard to open the console (this key is called Tilde), or just hit Tab for the quick-console. 2: Type in a command (listed below), then hit Enter. (Tip: hit Up and Down on the arrow pad to quickly cycle through previously used console commands, so you don't have to type them in repeatedly) 3: Hit F9 to take a screenshot (or whatever key you bound as your screenshot key, when you go to Options>Input>Configure Controls) 4: Find your screenshots folder (UT2004/Screenshots, or if you're on Steam, then Steam/steamapps/common/UT2004/Screenshots), then post your favorite shots via the "Attach" line below the message box (remember to expand "Additional Options") ---=== Commands: ===---slomo 1Replace 1 with any number you want. 0.1 is extreme slow-motion, and 10 is super-speed. 1 is normal playersonlyThis is awesome. It freezes time, but lets you walk around and look at everything frozen. If rockets were in flight, or explosions in the air, you can rotate around them, and find your perfect angle for capturing an action moment. It's can help to watch the match in slomo, then freeze it when "the moment" arrives. showhudThis turns off the HUD (ammo/health counters, weapons bar, etc). [need to find the commands for turning off weapon and crosshair. Maybe you can just Spectate]

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're saying. Edit: Oh, you mean the Gunreal readme is empty? Yes, that will be filled in along the way.

A couple character-profile shots from today's testing session...
(just zoomed in (fov 12-35), plus some Photoshop rotation for the tilting effect)

Hi...just discovered Gunreal, and I'm downloading now. Just a quick question - How did you get those screenshots to look so shiny? Especially you, Dario. I can put my game onto full graphics capability, and the players still won't look as good as that.

Some of it has to do with the fact that the characters are covering most of the screen (I'm zooming in like crazy), so you can actually see their details. In-game, you'll never see anyone that close up, so they won't look as smooth and clear... if that's what you mean.
Zooming in is the only "different" thing going on there. If it still doesnt look like that for you, make sure your Texture Detail and Character Detail settings are at their highest.

But... those are UT3 models. How do they work in UT2004?

Works well with slomo, so you slow things down, and watch/wait for "the moment". showhudThis turns off the HUD (ammo/health counters, weapons bar, etc). Yeah. Open the console, and type (or paste): set input X playersonly Replace X with whatever key you want to bind. Some keys might have to be spelled out... Example: Insert might either be Ins or Insert.
