Bug Type: Network Play - Weapon Related Map: DM-Deck17 Gametype: DM Server: Non-Dedicated LAN Symptoms: On clients connected to a non-dedicated host, plasma gun rounds do no dissapear when they impact a sirface, but appear to continue to float in the air at the point of impact. This is a purely visual bug, but is very obnoxious. So far, this is the only weapon with which such an effect has been noticed.

I saw this too on someone's VCTF server. However, once I switched over to a DM server, it was no longer happening.
Programmers will have to look into this, as it doesn't seem to affect everything. (we certainly didn't notice it during private testing before beta) It might only happen on team-games, where the plasma colors are team-specific.

plasma gun rounds do no dissapear when they impact a sirface uh... you wouldnt happen to be talking about the fully charged plasma ball would you? cuz that's SUPPOSED to just kinda float at the surface, as a mine type feature

Both Quad and I from Hedsteem both tried out a listen server and we had this same problem with the primary fire of the plasma gun. We didn't have this problem on the dedicated DM server.
We're not sure if it isn't just packet loss or not. I only have about 500kbs upstream, so that may be the problem.
Didn't really see any bugs with the other weapons.

Also, the HRL and the RL leave a black spot for an explosion effect, that is just a black square, it soon fades, but may need some changes.

DOUBLE POST OF IMPORTANTS!!! Sniper did a dedicated server, and found the plasma balls worked normally.
Its Packet Loss.

I think I saw some notes in the recent changelogs about some code changes to hopefully fix this problem for good.
