some weapons do way too much damage, i.e. rocket launchers
I agree that the Heavy Rocket Launcher is over-powered vs. infantry (
see this post - it's in for a revamp), but do you also mean to say that
regular Rocket Launcher does too much damage? (not sure)
The way I test weapon damage balance is by seeing who's more likely to win a fight when using certain weapons. Example: When I use the Rocket Launcher to fight a bot who has the Minigun, from close range, I should feel like I *can* win if I play my cards right (because the RL is supposed to be more powerful), but also, if I make any mistakes, or take even a second too long to do something, the bot should get me. It should never feel like you're guaranteed to always win just because of the gun you're using... unless the bots are below your difficulty level, or if you're sniping a group of campers from 10 miles away, and they have no chance of reaching you.
So far, I've been happy with the RL's performance... I feel like the Sniper can kill slightly better (as long as I hang back), followed by the Destroyer, and then HRL (which is overpowered).
i was playing some mins ago and i had to stand at the shop to get some ammo or change weapons, i got shot trough the shield (though that wasnt supposed to happend) so the point is that i wasnt fast enough whit the mouse to buy the stuff, so i came whit the idea of hotkeys for buying guns, reloading ammo, granades, etc.
Yeah, this has been an odd challenge... It's annoying to get blown out of the shopping shield, and have none of the things you did apply.
I'm thinking about just having your shopping order not get canceled when the shield is destroyed, so that whatever you "did" will still go through (example: if you sold your guns, and bought a G-60, but then someone blew you out of the shield before you could click "Done", you'd still end up with a G-60, and your weapons would remain sold)...
The Shopping Screen would still have to auto-close for you, so that you can defend yourself (it'd be sooo annoying to have to scramble to hit the "Done" button while someone is standing there, shooting you without the shield), but you'd still end up with whatever load-out you were able to select while shopping.
It's only a question of if there are any side-effects to allowing your enemies to finalize your shopping by destroying the shield, instead of "canceling" what you're doing.
