when you place it on certain props like wood tables on the floor in example, or some kind of walls, it explodes instead of stick to the wall/object.
Yeah, I posted this bug on our bug tracker the other day. At first I wasn't sure what caused it, because it didn't seem to happen all the time, but I was able to get it to happen consistently when I took Prox Rockets for a spin on DM-Metallurgy.
Also, its just supposed to stay there to be shoot or it has a mine-like use or what?
Both. It's a mine, and you can also shoot it to set it off. It's also nice to set a whole group of them in a room, then trigger one to set them all off when someone comes near...
But as of Patch 3 (just-released), Landmines might take the functionality-cake, because now they can be manually set off by right-clicking... for raw convenience and protection though, Prox Rockets still win just because they're part of the Rocket Launcher, so you can fire off a regular rocket when under attack with 0 delay. If you run around with the Combat Glove, settings mines, you're a sitting duck...
...With the Rocket Launcher, if someone sneaks up on you and catches you setting mines, you can turn around and say, "AW YEAH?! How's the salt on this rocket?!"
You'll want him to try your mines next.
